The Syngonium Arrowhead (Syngonium podophyllum) is a popular tropical vine. It gets its common name from the distinct, sharply pointed arrow or heart shape of its juvenile leaves, making it a favorite ornamental houseplant.Key CharacteristicsFoliage Transformation: The leaf shape changes dramatically as the plant matures. Juvenile plants have simple arrowhead leaves, while climbing, mature plants develop deeply divided leaves with 5 to 11 lobes.Growth Habit: Young plants form compact, bushy clumps. As they age, they grow into climbing vines with aerial roots. If not given a trellis to climb, they trail beautifully in hanging baskets.Colors & Variegation: While the wild form is deep green, cultivated varieties like the White Butterfly or pink, red, and cream variegated types are widely prized for their vibrant, contrasting colors.
