Treated wood can be glued, polished, painted over, varnished over and treated with external wood stains. After treatment glazing, puttying, mastics and non-bituminous gap filling can also be applied. Timber Guard Clear penetrates deep into the wood and remains there as an active barrier against insects pests. Timber Guard Clear has a zinc soap of synthetic fatty acid to repel water away from treated wood protecting it against rots. Wood when kept dry will not be attacked by decay fungi. DIRECTION FOR USE:WOOD EXPOSED TO WEATHERING:TIMBER GUARD MEDIUM BROWN is recommended for use on all types of external woods, such as timber boarding, fencing, gates sheds, outhouses and farm buildings. Dark parts may be applied over it as protective coating. TIMBER GUARD CLEAR is also recommended for use on all external woods that will afterwards be protected with light-colored durable surface coating including windows, doors, surrounds, joinery timbers, frames, porches, external fittings, soffits, fascias, barge, boards, garden timbers, etc. It is not recommend as a final finish on external woods. WOOD NOT EXPOSED TO WEATHERING: TIMBER GUARD MEDIUM BROWN is also recommended for use on internal woods such as trusses and ceiling and floor joists. TIMBER GUARD CLEAR is recommended for use on all internal woods that sill afterwards be protected with a durable surface coating such as internal joinery timbers, windows, doors, floorboards, joists, roofing timbers, soffits,fascias and barge boards. Apply in dry weather by brush, immersion or spray. One liberal application is recommended. Care should be taken to work the wood preservative well into the joints and ends so that no portion of the wood is left untreated. COVERAGE:Covers 4-8 square meters per liter (200-400 sq. ft. per gallon) depending on the porosity of the wood.
