I asked via chat if there was a step up adapter (converts regular USB to 12v DC) in the package. No reply and they didn't read it. So I'll answer for other prospective users. This pad takes 12v 2.1 Ah. That equals about 25 Watt as described in the manual. I would add some overhead, as the power adapter does. I don't like using AC for red light therapy. It introduces EMF unless the power adapter is very high quality. I have had many pads over about two years. My biggest takes 40 Watts, and I bought a laptop power bank to power it. The power adapter broke quite fast after falling on the floor once.. Unfortunately I didn't bring the power bank, and I can't find any suitable ones on Lazada. There's a definite market for that, preferably inside Thailand with priority shipping.\\n\\nI did a video showing intensity modes and pulsing (which I would never use. EMF). It got comfortably warm. Not the warmest I've had. It smells of neoprene, but not badly. It'll dissipate quickly, would be my guess.\\n\\nI obviously like red light therapy, and wanted to try one more type. For a newbie, I would recommend the smaller pad that plugs right into a power bank (Hailicare has them), before graduating to this along with DC power bank
