400 mesh is great. the filtrate doesn't have visible residue if it wasn't pressed out. with gentle pressing the residue is very, very minimal.\nIt could be taken apart for washing. Plus side is that you can change out the filter screen. issue with this design though, is that it traps water when washing, if you don't open it up.\nthe plastic is quite nice. looks like polypropylene. no burrs.\n\nshipping is super fast
