The staple gift idea for the kids, teeny boppers or sweet tweens, stuff toys have paved its way to the Philippine market and have been there since. There are lots of stuffed toys available in shops: there are teddy bears, stuffed shapes, dolls, real and imaginary animals like unicorns. Some of these toys have electronics in it — they can sing, dance and talk even in several languages. Most of us, if not all, have had our favorite bear hugs that have been with us in our entire childhood or may have received one from someone really special that we actually associate that person with it through years.
These toys are usually the animal and doll shaped figures stuffed with lots of foam, cotton, cloth sometimes beans; and surrounded with soft fabric that imitates the animal fur that makes it so huggable, just as Agnes said in Despicable Me, “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die!” Young girls usually favor the light colored pink and purple bears and stuffed dolls made like their favorite cartoon characters. Boys also adore cartoon characters but those of the action figures that they watch in televisions and wide screen.
There are lots of changes and improvements made with these toys to make them look more modern, some have various accessories, houses and cars. There are lots of plush toys now, right? Just remember that in buying gifts for kids, look for the age suggestion usually placed at the upper right corner of the box. However, when purchasing stuffed dolls for babies, be sure that there are no tiny detachable parts so as not to cause trouble with your little ones.
