Most people wish that beautiful, clear skin was achievable in a snap. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. Just as hair needs to be washed and bodies need to be soaped, the face also needs to be cleaned. Facial cleansers are an essential part of skin care by keeping skin fresh. They boost the effectiveness of other skin products like moisturizers by removing dirt and excess oil, creating a bare and renewed skin palette. So before investing on treatments and creams, make sure to have a good cleanser first. Ideally, the face should be washed twice a day: once in the morning to remove bacteria build-up overnight and to rejuvenate the skin, and again in the evening to remove the oil and dirt accumulated throughout the day.
Before picking out a cleanser, it is important to determine one’s skin type: oily, normal, dry, or sensitive. If there is a constant shiny sheen on the face, then a person has oily skin. One must use deep-cleaning facial wash that will still keep the skin properly moisturized. If the skin feels tight, and has chalky patches in certain areas, then it is considered dry. A mild cleanser should be used to clean the skin, but not deprive it of the little moisture it has. In special cases, people with sensitive skin cannot tolerate certain chemicals on their skin, especially fragrances, preservatives, and dyes. Their skin tends to flush and easily get irritated. There are specially formulated gentle cleansers, that are free of any irritants.
