A coin is flung to decide which team would start the cricket match and the toss-winning captain of a team gets to decide, whether to go batting or bowling first. Both the teams get a chance to bat and bowl alternatively. The bowler of the opposing team throws balls to the batting member of the other team. The active batsman defends the wicket and tries to score as many runs as possible. To take the wicket of the batsman, the bowler tries to knock the ball away from the bat. A batsman advances his batting till he gets out by the bowler or any of the opposing team members defending the field. When a batsman is caught, run, or bowled out another batsman comes on to pitch and bowlers keep changing according to their allotted bowling overs. Whichever team starts with batting continues to bat until its ten batsmen are made out by the bowling and fielding team or the batsmen complete batting for the specified number of overs of the match.
