Transmission Fluids Help in the Smooth Running of Your Car

If you are a car owner then you will surely know that if you want to keep your car well maintained and running smoothly, then you need to keep the various parts of the car lubricated. This puts less stress on the engine and keeps it lubricated. A car or any kind of vehicle needs different kinds of liquids, one of them being transmission fluids. Transmission fluids are used as a lubricant for various components of the car’s transmission. Cars that have automatic transmission, these transmission fluids also act as coolants. There are different types of transmission fluids categorised on the basis of transmission used in the car. While automatic transmission uses regular automatic transmission fluid, manual transmission uses motor oil or transmission oil. Apart from lubrication, transmission fluids also condition gaskets, clean and protect metal surfaces, increase rotational speed and improve cooling function.  It is important to change the transmission fluid regularly—it is recommended to change it after every 60000 to 100000 miles that the car has travelled for automatic transmission and 30000 to 60000 miles for manual transmission.

Transmission fluids are easily available in the market. These fluids usually come in a jar of one liter. Some come with the superior quality transmission fluids that are best suited for automatic transmission. It uses fully synthetic ATF and is of the Dexron-III category. It provides high foam stability, high anti-rusting, and lower sludge formation. These provide good start operation n colder climates as they have low-temperature fluidity. These fluids provide more stable friction property. These can be used for power steering systems, industrial hydraulic systems, and air compressors. Some of these fluids provide a lifetime protection.

Transmission Oils are Great Lubricants that Ensure that All Parts of Your Car is Functioning Well

Some transmission fluids come in the form of oil and are known as transmission oil. These are usually used for manual transmission. These are high-performance automotive gear oil used in manual transmission, slip differential, transaxle and various other gear applications. These provide minimum anti-wear properties and superior lubrication protects the vehicle against corrosion. These can be used in gears of agricultural tractors and industrial equipment. Some of these fluids are designed to protect dual-clutch transmissions in high-heat operating conditions. These oils provide excellent friction durability where the dual-clutch transmissions are capable of seamless, split-second shifts.
